Izocam General Manager Murat Savcı: The new standard will raise our country's energy efficiency level.

TS 825 Building Thermal Insulation Rules Standard has been updated; Turkey has entered a new era in insulation. Izocam General Manager Murat Savcı emphasized that the new regulation will raise our country's energy efficiency bar and contribute to sustainability goals.

The TS 825 Thermal Insulation Rules Standard for Buildings has been updated to improve the energy performance of buildings and reduce environmental impacts. Prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and published in the Official Gazette dated February 20, 2025, the new regulation came into effect on April 1, 2025. Commenting on the issue, İzocam General Manager Murat Savcı emphasized that this regulation is a very important step not only for the sector but also for Turkey's economic and environmental future:

"Turkey's energy import bill, recorded at $65 billion 589 million 764 thousand in 2024, is one of the important indicators of our dependence on foreign energy. Forty percent of the energy we consume is in buildings, and a large proportion of this, 80 percent, is used for heating and cooling. Therefore, increasing the thickness and performance of materials used in thermal insulation applications is critical for energy efficiency. In recent days, a major step has been taken to raise our country's energy efficiency bar and contribute to sustainability goals by updating the TS 825 Thermal Insulation Rules for Buildings Standard, which regulates the U-values and insulation thicknesses of buildings. This standard, prepared to increase the energy performance of buildings and reduce their environmental impact, includes comprehensive regulations developed with the active contribution of our association, IZODER, of which we are a founding member. He stated, “This is a crucial step toward achieving our country's energy efficiency and sustainability goals, as it considers not only thermal insulation but also cooling requirements in buildings.”
