ORKA Bathroom to Increase Production Capacity by 40% with Its Dark Factory Investment

With more than 35 years of expertise in bathroom furniture, industry pioneer ORKA Bathroom is transforming its production infrastructure into a smart and integrated system through its Industry 4.0-focused dark factory initiative. The advanced automation infrastructure is expected to increase the company’s annual production capacity of 750,000 modules by approximately 40%.

Operating globally in the bathroom furniture industry, ORKA Bathroom is implementing a strategic transformation of its production model through a dark factory investment, one of the most advanced stages of digitalization. This structure, where human intervention is minimized, enables production processes to be carried out with leaner teams while ensuring greater continuity and efficiency.

Increasing Production Capacity and Reducing Waiting Times
As part of this investment, which focuses on speed and operational agility, automatic loading systems, CNC production lines, and robotic conveyors have been integrated into a unified production structure. As a result, numerous processes—from cutting operations to in-line material transfers—are now supported by automation, aiming to reduce production waiting times and ensure a more controlled workflow.

High-level automation and robotic systems also enhance precision and repeatability in manufacturing, supporting the maintenance of superior quality standards.

Already operating with an Industry 4.0-compatible infrastructure and an annual production capacity exceeding 750,000 modules, the company aims to increase its production capacity by 35–40% through enhanced automation and stronger integration between production lines. This increase will enable ORKA Bathroom, which exports to 95 countries, to manage high-volume orders more efficiently while further strengthening its competitiveness in global markets.

High Visibility Across All Operations
Viewing automation as more than just mechanization, ORKA Bathroom manages its manufacturing processes through an integrated data ecosystem under the ORKA 360 Digital Transformation Program. Thanks to its SAP S/4HANA infrastructure, various operational layers related to production, inventory, and supply chain processes can be monitored through a single platform.

Digitized processes—from procurement and manufacturing to quality control and logistics—not only improve operational visibility but also accelerate decision-making processes. The company’s data-driven management approach and controlled production flow create the foundation for more efficient resource planning while supporting its sustainability objectives.

Artificial Intelligence and IoT at the Core of the Future
With ambitious growth targets for 2026, ORKA Bathroom plans to further advance its digitalization vision through Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence-based projects. Through predictive maintenance applications developed using real-time machine data, the company aims to anticipate potential equipment failures before they occur and impact production.

The implementation of AI-powered models in areas such as demand forecasting, inventory management, and production planning is also among the key priorities of ORKA Bathroom’s digital transformation journey.

Commenting on the impact of the dark factory transformation on the company’s global competitiveness, Ömer Yılmaz, Chairman of the Board of ORKA Bathroom, stated:

"We do not view our dark factory investment merely as a response to current needs. This initiative represents a new stage in the digital transformation journey we have been pursuing for many years and is a tangible step toward preparing today for the production model that will define tomorrow’s competition. We are building our production strategy on a data-driven and continuously evolving structure. By making our manufacturing infrastructure smarter through advanced automation and artificial intelligence applications, we will continue to strengthen our global competitive power."
