Special Recognition Award from Altın Çekül for Saint-Gobain Türkiye’s “Sustainable and Lightweight Construction Solutions” Communication Strategy

Saint-Gobain Türkiye was honored with the Special Recognition Award at the “Altın Çekül International Building Catalogue Awards” for its 360-degree communication strategy designed to raise awareness of sustainable and lightweight construction solutions in the building industry. Focusing on the architectural community, the strategy stood out with its holistic structure ranging from physical events to digital content series, leadership communication, and sectoral collaborations.

Saint-Gobain Türkiye achieved significant success at the Altın Çekül International Building Catalogue Awards, recognized as one of the most prestigious platforms in the construction industry. Organized by Yapı Kataloğu since 1991, the awards honor innovative products, architectural projects, and communication initiatives within the sector. Saint-Gobain Türkiye received the “Altın Çekül Building Catalogue Special Recognition Award” for its “Sustainable and Lightweight Construction Solutions” communication strategy.

Over the past two years, Saint-Gobain Türkiye’s comprehensive communication strategy has aimed to increase awareness of sustainable and lightweight building systems within the industry, establish a strong communication network with industry professionals—particularly architects—and create an ecosystem that supports the development of more sustainable buildings.

A Strong Dialogue with Architects Crowned with an Award

Built on the approach that “Every structure begins with an architectural drawing,” the strategy included physical events for architects in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, while digital event series reached thousands of industry professionals through online platforms. As part of this strategy, architect-focused blog content, video series, office meetings, sectoral sponsorship collaborations, and leadership communication activities were simultaneously designed and implemented.

One of the key pillars of the strategy, the “Sustainable and Lightweight Building Talks” video series, reached hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube while also achieving strong engagement across social media platforms. Through this communication approach, Saint-Gobain Türkiye went beyond being merely a brand offering products and solutions; it established an ecosystem that shapes transformation together with industry stakeholders, encourages knowledge sharing, inspires professionals, and pioneers sustainable construction practices.

Öner: The Award Reflects the Strong Bond We Have Built with the Industry

Commenting on the award, Saint-Gobain Türkiye Corporate Communications Manager Ceyda Öner stated:

“This award is not only recognition of a successful communication initiative, but also an important reflection of our belief in the future of sustainable construction and the strong dialogue we have established with the industry. At Saint-Gobain, we place sustainability, innovation, and knowledge sharing at the core of our business. We highly value thinking together, producing together, and contributing to the transformation of the construction industry with a wide range of stakeholders, from architects to young professionals. We are extremely proud that this approach has been recognized on one of the industry’s most prestigious platforms, such as the Altın Çekül International Building Catalogue Awards.”

Bringing the Vision of Sustainable Construction to the Center of Communication

Saint-Gobain Türkiye’s award-winning communication strategy distinguished itself from the traditional product-oriented communication approach commonly seen in the construction sector by focusing on long-term perception transformation. This approach aims to contribute to the widespread adoption of sustainable buildings that offer longer service life, higher comfort, minimal environmental impact throughout their lifecycle, and low carbon emissions.

Unlike the traditional construction practices dominant in Türkiye, the strategy focused on creating awareness around lightweight and sustainable building solutions while supporting knowledge generation in this field. It combined physical events, digital content, academic collaborations, social media activities, and leadership communication under one integrated framework. As a result, the approach attracted strong interest from industry professionals and contributed significantly to the sector’s transformation.

As a global leader in sustainable and lightweight construction solutions, Saint-Gobain continues to contribute to the transformation of the construction industry through projects developed in line with its purpose, “Making the World a Better Home.”
